Dee was the man! i especially dug it when he stepped into prog teritory on "loves lies bleeding" and "grey seal".

It is all who you like. The thread if favorite not most talented. Good to see there has been no bashing going on. Good list. I saw Elton in 85 or 86 when he toured for Leather Jackets. Not one of his more stellar releases, but man did he rock. He did three encores. Saturday Saturday Saturday nights all right.

Michael Anthony can drive a beat with his right hand like nobody's business. Most bassist's would just play steady 1/8 notes with a pick, which doesn't sound all that smooth, but it's much harder to keep it up and sound as steady and driving as Michael does with his fingers. That Eddie replaced him with his weak dough-boy of a son without even calling him, was a classless move.

But I do recall seeing a video of Michael Anthony doing a bass "solo" during a concert. It sounded like an elephant dying.

He was well-loved because of all the money he gave away for John Beresford Tipton, too.

+1. I (rather unfortunately) saw that "solo" being performed live. Great bassist, not a great soloist.

Later in the show Eddie musically wanked for 18 minutes. At least Michael's "solo" came to a quick, merciful end.
