I think BileGlo is perfect and a complement.....PhlegmGlo would work as well! Embrace her flippant comment and be happy she has humor about it and doesn't make an issue with your quickly growing RickenForest.

You made the comment about not knowing if it sounded like a Laredo or not well, IMO, without the walnut body wing sammich it "is" a Laredo. That, again IMO, is a good thing. I have found the multiple Cii models that I have owned to all sound "muddy" compared to my Laredo or Ci or LK. I'd bet that that ebony board adds some subtle zing to the tone as well.

Again, congrats and I'm glad it is not a disappointment for you!

+1!

It's probably a good thing that my wife did NOT like the color at all - otherwise it probably would have ended up costing one or the other of us a fair amount more...

Congrats and I'm glad you are lovin' it!

Oh Yeah, that would have bad in an expensive sorta way! :)

As for the rapidly expanding Rickenforest, I'm about done, I think. I had to "round the corner" and install another wall hanger on a adjacent wall. Space is a premium so the next one has to be well worth it.

First of all, congratulations on your win, Joseph! That bass is just beautiful... - I don't know when I've seen a more arresting instrument than that. What a fantastic guitar to have! I used to have a TV Yellow Gibson SG which was quite a jawdropper when you lifted it out of its case, but a TV Yellow 4004 is even more of a statement!

Congratulations, and I hope that you love it!

A hearty congrats (tinged with slight envy) on your STUNNING new bass! The ebony fretboard (and its history) blows me away.

As the lucky owner of one of the five '11 4001c64 TVY's, I'm torn between playing the HECK out of it, or treating it like a museum piece.

I've yet to bring myself to take the "Made in America" sticker off of it, let alone bring it to my band's cramped rehearsal space - where dings do happen. :(

Any suggestions?

My personal method is to use something that I don't mind getting a few dents and dings at rehearsals and such. If I'm fairly sure the venue/environment will be safe and relatively controlled (Hint: If there's chicken wire between the audience and the stage, it probably ain't), and I think the audience will appreciate it, I'll go ahead and bring out something special...

Oh I've been enjoying the heck out of her!! She is a joy to play and that is for sure. the other day my wife asked me what guitar was my favorite. I asked her favorite what?? Sounding, playing, looking, color?? All 6 of mine are like specialty tools. They each do something different from each other. Yes, you can use them for anything but finding where they excel and what makes them different is what is more important. IMHO. :D

I then went on to tell her which is the most comfortable to play and which ones I think sound the best and then which are my favorite looking.

Here is a the most recent foto of the gang, hanging around!!

What a lucky guy. So many great instruments to choose from.

Marc,

Oh yes, Yellow sounds very healthy through Orange!! :D

Update: I received my new Schaller m4 machine head from RIC as well as my authentication letter for Blackstar #17. Very prompt service! :D My new Circle K's should be in soon so I'll swap them out and perform the machine head-ectomy at the same time.
