I'd rock the %$#@ out of one, but timing is just not right for me to spend that much money.

Unfortunately the 5 stringers haven't seen much playing time lately. I don't think my ears could handle another super loud heavy metal and someone would have to pay me insane money to play country music.

In my opinion Rica sound great in an acoustic setting. And there is plenty of great selections to choose from...

I've been looking for just that (an acoustic gig) for quite a while with no luck.

Absofreakinlutly!! I'd gig the snot out of that bass!! I'm interested to get some feedback on how they sound. I'm thinking they will have a bit more mellow/warm tone with the ebony. I'd wager that these would be a perfect candidate for a vintage value set of pots to brighten the tone.

I like the look of the ebony fretboard. I've always thought that the bubinga and rosewood fretboards clashed a bit with the black, blue and green finishes, though they always look great with red, fireglo and mapleglo finishes. As for the sound, I haven't noticed a difference between my bubinga fretboards and my new 4003W. YMMV.

I won't be able to pick up my bass until mid November when I'm back in the States. Any reviews from those who have had the pleasure...

Mine looks fantastic in person and came setup very nicely with low action and flat neck. Plays super nice and the matte finish feels good on the back of the neck. I only had it plugged in to my practice amp for a couple of minutes, but it sounds like...a Rickenbacker. Good luck with yours!

Finally after a few months I was able to connect with my new bass. First impressions. Perfectly built, fast slim neck - a bit thick at the first few frets and an overall great feel. Love the ebony board...
