I'm sure Larry would be please as punch to create a new route in the body to sink the V2 into!Dirk wrote:That's curious on the bridge, have you considered routing the bridge into the body rather than resetting the neck?
That's not a terrible idea, but it seems kind of like trying to fix a haircut by cutting more on the one side... then you have to cut more on the first side... etc etc, then you're shopping for hats.Dirk wrote:That's curious on the bridge, have you considered routing the bridge into the body rather than resetting the neck?
Could it be the replacement is actually higher profile?
I still can't get over the amazing grain matching on that patch.
It usually involves things such as spreading, stretching, blocking, plugging, gluing, etc.Dirk wrote:Alright fair enough, but how do you reset a neck thru bass?
I understand the technique on a bolt on neck, no problem.
Cut off the body wings and correct the angle there?
Take the fingerboard off and plane the neck again?
This will be interesting to see what fix is implemented.
I was thinking a like the "ramp" on a 325/330. That assembly looks a lot like an Accent vibrato....Dirk wrote:That's curious on the bridge, have you considered routing the bridge into the body rather than resetting the neck? Could it be the replacement is actually higher profile?
I was wondering the same thing.Dirk wrote:Alright fair enough, but how do you reset a neck thru bass?
