Shaun, I do expect to be outbid. I hope it's yours that does it.

Hi Marc
I must admit I'm really not sure what to do. I'm kind of hoping you get it actually, even though I'd obviously like it. Its tough, I mean the bass seems great (did you get the extra pictures?)and the seller seems really genuine and pleasant. But various things are still bothering me; I've got a bass at home I'm currently selling (not a Rick, although if I was to get the V63 my 4000 may go up for sale); thought I had a choice of 2 buyers, but today 1 backed out and the other is making similar noises, so financially it could leave me potentially out on a limb. I was also thinking that really I still want a CS, so would I be better off putting the money towards one of those when the time comes? But then I look at the pictures! And of course a CS is so potentially so expensive....of course it could be we're both going to be outbid anyway (I think what I'm willing to pay and what I'll be able to pay are probably a few hundred dollars apart at the moment, seeing as my bass hasn't gone.)
I'll be very interested to see the final result.

Well, someone else is now the high bidder. I looked at his other wins. This would be his THIRD v63 should he get it.

His THIRD??? Now that's just plain greedy, lol. I take it you're not going any higher? I've been doing some calculations, and I reckon if I bid $1800 (which would still probably not be enough), the total I'd be paying, including shipping and duty, would be around $2500; maybe slightly more. If I'd definitely sold my bass, then I'd probably do it. But as it stands, as much as I'd like it, I think I may pass. Only thing is, if they're all being snapped up like this, are we going to get many more chances? Oh well, 5 minutes more pondering, and then its either bid or bedtime (its half past midnight here!). I'm sorry it looks like you didn't get it Marc. And I'm sorry it looks like I won't get it either! You know, the worst thing is that when I was in Vegas in October, there was a V63 in Cowtown, and it was only around £1200, dead mint. Why oh why didn't I buy it? (because I'm an idiot, that's why...)

That's not fair! Maybe we can all share and this could be the Forum bass that we pass along to each other?

Great idea! BTW, the Cowtown price was $1200, not £1200. I'm getting tired!

$1525.99 with 5 hours to go. I think these basses are worth this.

Definitely Scott. Its just the several hundred dollar duty and shipping that spoils it for me.

If I recognize the Ebay handle and it's the top bidder I won't bid. If he or she is outbid then I'll get in on it.

The funny thing is that the bass wasn't even listed properly. Meaning guys that are searching and searching for v63's can't find this one.
I still think a properly listed, nice condition one would go for 2K.

Ummm.... I believe I won the contest. My guess was $1950. Do I get a chance to exchange my prize for what's behind door number three? Are there any parting gifts?...

Marc, I think that just KNOWING that you have the inate ability to accurately predict the ending price is sufficient.
Think of it as a public service.....
So, are you satisfied that the auction ran out the entire way? I thought it might go for a little more since it came with the other "goodies"....

Remember that it also wasn't listed properly but, even with that I wasn't surprised. The guy that bought it also paid over $5K for a CS.
