Paul,
I can raise the toaster quite a bit more, where it is at now balances the way I want it with the neck toaster (as far as magnetic pull, I haven't checked for that). In fact, I set up the 4003FL and 4004Cii to the same output as my 4001 with the V63 horseshoe so I won't get any volume changes when I switch basses if I use more than one at a gig. The current black plastic baseplates have the holes there already to mount a toaster, no drilling required! I just had to get screws, nuts and washers, and I used two grommets (Hello, Gromit !) to help support the toaster on the plate.

Nice collection Ron, the new v63 looks great, even has the "made in USA" sticker still on it. Congratualtions ...

Thanks. I still would like to get a white 4001, but that can wait for a while. And while I'm at it, a 4003s5, a 4001S, a 4000...........

If I just got the white 4001, I'd be happy. Or maybe I can get a Chris Squire model. And to think that just a few months ago, I thought the 4003 was the only bass Rickenbacker made.

Thanks, Jeff.
It's really a great idea to set all the babes to the same output volume. No obvious volume change switching from one bass to another on stage is cool.

Hey, Ron, here's a link to a delectable white 4001. It's a 1974.

Well, will you pick it up?
Ilan:
You may not credit this, but I have not yet seen said Christmas tree, only heard of it. I shall go and take a look at it eventually, though.

Are you going to loan me the money?

If I had me the money I'd pick it up right now.

I looked at that white 4001 a little more. Doesn't $1350 seem a little high?

Maybe, but then that 4001 is thirty years old and I believe the white finish/black 'guard & TRC combination was not that common in 1974. I'd gladly shell out 1350 bucks on that beauty. Not to mention I have a thing for 74 4001s...
