Moderators: rickenbrother, ajish4
Had mine for about a month now. Best part I dodn't have to wait. Sitting on the wall at Rudy's music NYC. The best feel of any bass i've ever played.

I think Eric might be talking about something else. The front of the C64 and C64S models is definitely more rounded than the sharp edge of a 4003's binding.
But how much relief you feel(compared with a 4003) will depend on where your arm rests when you play. The front contour on a 4003S or a V63 or a C64 is the mirror image of the contour on the back.(As you probably already know, I mean on top. There is no contour on the front bottom) Some people rest their right arm right on the contour and play in front of the bridge pickup; some people play behind the bridge pickup and end up resting their arm farther back than the contour.
I have found that my V63 and my 4003S models have a nice rounded edge to the body behind the contour (which is usually where my arm rests). My C64S on the other hand has a sharper edge than my 4003S or V63 models. I'm not sure if this was done so that the bass would be a more accurate reproduction of a 64 4001S than the V63, or if its just because the guitar doesn't have the traditional RIC finish and therefore wasn't subjected to as much sanding.
At any rate...I really like all of them, but the most comfortable ones for me are the 4003S models.
I hope this helps, Greg!
