cool shots Marshall - Jeff I think the door is a more bassier version of the washboard... I don't think Ric ever mad a door - probably a Lowe's door...

Thanks! The door substitutes for a gong/bass drum combination - not very well though. It came off of the drummer and singer's shed in their backyard. Hope the landlord doesn't notice...

Nice avatar. Is that in reference to the band or the amp? Or both?

Thanks man - just the amp, not the band. I love love love Sunn amps.

I used to have an old Model-T head that I deeply regret selling (for a "newer better" transistor head) I also had a 2x15 Sunn cab that was great for recording. Also a memory.

If he still has it Chris Pappas has my Sunn Sorado cabinet. If it weren't for all those stairs at my old apartment I'd still have it.

Sorry to hear about your loss
I'd love to have an old Model T. I'm pretty sure that will be my next Sunn purchase, provided I can find one for a decent price. That might be difficult...

A friend of mine just posted this picture on Facebook...Herman Nelson and The Darts playing the Petty Officers' Club, McMurdo Station, circa 1983...Rod Grim ('Phoneman') on bass, John 'Sure-Eye' Wood on drums, my brother Neal on keys (and occasional lead vocals), and me on guitar. My mind was blown when I saw this, because I had no recollection of taking my '74 4001 down there that year...I guess because Rod played it all that season, not me...
So I suppose I will have to amend my earlier line: "Sometimes you DO take a debutante to a dogfight..."

Here's a shot from `84, back in the day when I played bass, with my first Rickenbacker; a 1979 JG 4001. Apologies for the confused or lack of fashion sense: I was going for a mix of new wave and neo psychedelia, with a touch of the Jam mixed in, I'm sure
