Nice pictures Victor. What year is your Rick?

Hi, Ted !
My Rick is a '73 with all the weird features of this transition year (toaster, grover tuners, checkered binding...)
I'd like to learn more about these series, but the RIC site isn't very "helpful"...

Victor,
Is your baby an early~mid '73 (serial # MA~MF)?
4001's made during that time period have "transitional" features like toaster, grover tuners, checkered binding but non mother-of-pearl, edge-to-edge inlays.

Here's an article on the 400X series if you haven't read it yet. http://www.rickresource.com/rrp/axtbassarticle2.html

Ah yes... A 4001 would be like a cello to Tommy.

So, what in the he!! happens to our hair as we get older?! Why can't it just stay long, flowing and sexy?! I mean, it's the whole reason our wives married us!

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum. Here is a pic of me playing my '03 Midnight Blue 4003 at a gig last weekend. This is a great forum, I really have enjoyed it since discovering it recently.

Thanks for the welcome! Here is a pic that is a little less dark, albeit a bit grainy. It's my '00 MG. I have four 4003's of varying vintage and finish. I play in a rock/pop covers/originals band in Springfield, IL, USA.
