The drummers name was Mick Avory and of course the band you are referring to Scotty is The Kinks......... :D

Oh! and they were banned by the American Federation of Musicians for rowdy on-stage behaviour. There were a number of documented on-stage fights that occurred before the ban.

Who almost joined Pop/R&B star Billy Ocean's band as a guitar player, but decided it was best to go with his own band as a singer/bassist?
