Mark, is that guuitar fireglo? It looks red on the headstock (though that might just be the string threads) either black or midnight blue on the upper horn, and yellowed ginding. Interesting, maybe it is Burgandy...which would combine red, blue, and black!

What year is that Mark? Full width inlays, toaster neck pickup?? No checkerboard binding as far as I can tell. Good stuff!!!

Ian, that 12-string article is great. Way to send the drummer off in style. Also, you must have amazing callouses on your fret fingers. Definitely post a link if you do write a Ric review.

No calluses as such, just slightly tougher fingertips like most bassists. It's a dream to play, especially since I re-strung it with lighter SIT strings.

Here is a photo of Vintage at a January 22, 2005 Tsunami fund raiser. You may recognize the guy playing the Model 450/12. While the group name is supposed to describe the music, it is more and more describing the band members.

Burgundy 1972 4001, and it does have checkered binding. Image
