Derek,did i see this one on ebay last winter,its got to be the same bass AG with broken headstock,something fell on the case,i don't remember...

That is the one. I foolishly sold it.
After a cursory search, I could not find the CD with the repair pictures at home. I'll try again.

It went too cheap since a dealer bought it. I expect Gil will add the 4005/6 to his collection. Otherwise it's going to show up on his list for a shocking amount.

I had forgotten about Gil...I bought my first basses from him back in the early '80s. No other reason than his store was a few blocks from my house growing up. He used to mow our neighbors' lawn. Now he's mowing us?

He's got a bass I want but am afraid to ask the price. I saw what he said to Scott at an Arlington show after he bought a '63 fiesta red strat lefty on the floor and then jacked it about $12K or $13K in half a minute.

Sigh. A lot of people credit him with driving up the vintage guitar market in the '90s. When I first started haunting his shop, prices were pretty much set: '70s P-basses were $300, '70s J-basses were $325.
Of course, that was before I knew better.
