Hi all, I finally decided to reward myself with the 360/6 I've always wanted. I go to my old friend who runs the local music store to see what 360's he has hoping to find a midnight blue or jetglo. He had neither but told me about the new blueburst. I fell in love with the NAMM picture right on the spot. He said he placed his order right after the NAMM show and still hasn't seen any 360BBR's yet. He has 2 Rickenbacker customers that were into it but didn't want to put a deposit. I put down a $100 deposit so I'd get the 1st one he receives!

I'm wondering though, does anyone have any idea how long until R starts shipping the 360BBR's to North America??? Have any even been shipped yet anywhere???

Thanks!
Dennis

Dennis, I have a 4003BBR that I am waiting from from Chris Clayton from POTR. It was ordered in January. I was originally told an expected June delivery, but he has amended that since then and I just hope it will be soon. He has been great in terms of putting up with my bi-weekly "Heard anything yet" emails. Image I don't think any are being shipped yet.

Hi Dennis, welcome. I too have a 360 BBR on order and I was told that it would take 6-9 months to arrive (in upstate New York). As I placed my order at the beginning of May, that means it should be arriving November-February. I'm not sure though how Ric fills its orders/shipping procedures or if that 6-9 month wait is standard for these models (or whether it varies depending on when you order). I'm sure there's somebody on the forum that could answer this! I've been keeping a pretty close eye too and as far as I know, no 360 BBRs have been sent out yet.

A few BBR's have shipped out here and there and there are a lot more on the schedule for August (4003's and 360's it appears). I seem to remember a 620 going out last week and I know we have a 650 Colorado with flamed wood that will probably ship today. However, even I don't know where those instruments we make in August will end up...

Thanks for the update Ben. Always nice to hear from the RIC head office.

To get a sense of perspective, how many 360s would Ric make in a year anyway? Does anybody have a breakdown of the various models and how many are produced annually? Just curious.

Thanks for the kind welcome Image I've never special ordered a guitar before so I'm sure the waiting is just going to kill me! I thought of putting up a pic of the 360BBR in the music room over an empty guitar stand but that would drive me over the edge. Better to just focus on other things...oh well, as the song said (over a jangly bed of Rickenbackers) "the waiting is the hardest part"

I hear you Dennis! To pass the time, I've burned all of my family's clothes and I now make them wear blueburst garb to keep me going. I've also painted the dog but FYI-schnauzers don't look so good in blueburst....

My advice to impatient future owners remains:

Buy a used Rickenbacker to hold you over until your custom order is filled. Enjoy playing it and when your custom order finally arrives, decide whether to keep or sell the interim guitar. If you sell it, you won't lose money, and you may even make a small profit.

Those of you who are repeat custom orderers, you hopefully have adjusted by now...

My advice has always been - buy as many as you can, when you can......new or old........and when you run out of money, borrow some and buy some more. I've never lost money on Ricks. I've always seemed to wait 9 months or so for new ones, but they're always worth the wait. You can't beat the feeling, months of waiting and then pulling the staples out of the carton and opening the case for the first time. Sorry I'm getting all emotional - it gets me every time!

Is that the fresh paint, or just a new case smell?
