Well. This is my last post in this thread and I will not look at it again. I have turned off email notification so that I won't see it. I don't feel that I was inappropriate in any way regarding the transaction. I don't feel that I was unfriendly in any way regarding the transaction. I feel that I set appropriate boundaries for the protection of both me as seller and Jeffery as buyer by wanting the discussion via email so that there would be a record of the conversation. What bothers me is that a complaint was posted in the feedback when in my view no complaint was justified. We're not talking about an idle comment in a private communication here, people. We are talking about a complaint in an ebay feedback. And now Jeffery says that the complaint has nothing to do with the transaction itself, but with the fact that I didn't have time to chit-chat about guitars. Not having time to chit-chat about guitars gets me a complaint in an ebay feedback? Am I the only one who sees a problem with this? Hello?

It's also not appropriate in my view to try to use this public guitar forum as a venue for trying to hash this out any further. It's done. My feedback is sullied and I just have to live with it. Every other buyer has loved me as a seller, and I just have to hope that people read on down a bit further than what was left with this.

Lawton: I think you have worked this out honourably and while the comments made may have best been left private, the situation did make its way here.

Differences of opinion happen everyday. The respectful and even manner in which you both have been willing to discuss the situation shines through here for me.

That is correct, I did not tarnish his rating. My description stated facts only and that he came through and rectified the problem due to a shipping mishap, not because he did something wrong. I am sorry this was vented here but as we were discussing ebay issues I felt it was relevant.

It is a sad world when poeple prefer not to talk to one another. These days I feel interpersonal communication is important, and I mean hearing a human voice, not reading an e-mail. I love this forum and the folks on it, and I enjoy writing here, but I have gotten much more enjoyment in speaking with poeple like Chris Pappas, Jaimy Millard, Brian Simer, Brian Crisman, and all the others I can't think of off hand at the moment. The Confluence in May that we had was a true living forum that no online version could possibly match. Sorry Peter!

Peter has started something that has combined digital super modern technology, with good old fashioned friendship & mutual admiration. I enjoy this forum immensley, but the thrill of meeting Lindsay Hahn when he was in the UK was incredible. A real gent & all that I would have hoped for from a fellow forum member. I am hoping to visit the US soon & would love to meet some other forumites while I'm over. But this wouldn't happen without Peters vision!!!!

I'm also looking forward to meeting some forum members when I get to the US next year, Tony - all thanks to Rickenbacker and this forum.

Ditto to the remarks made regarding Peter and the Forum and an open invitation to any Forum member who wishes to come through Texas and make a stop here in Lubbock . At the least I can give one a tour of Buddy's haunts, some of his keepsakes and the like....and naturally, pluck on a few Ricks!
