Alan, Purrrrrrhaps, or purrrrrrhaps not.....
Purrrrrrrhaps I'm just feeling a bit catty today!
Either way, I don't think this cat is ready to come out of the bag just yet!

So Melissa, with this upcoming Purpleglo, are you going to change your name to Princess?
Or maybe The Artist Formerly Known As Melibreits?

Excellent work Paul, (as usual), David I bet you can't wait to take possession, the feeling would be better than going out to buy a new guitar.
Knowing what it was like before you sent it to Paul and seeing some teasers of what it looks like now, you must be very pleased! Good on ya mate!! It would be good to see some 'before and after' pics

Paul, I'm jealous, as I am NOT ready for winter, but it seems to be here regardless....
But as I sit by the fireside I am further warmed by the thoughts of what is to come....

So Paul, how much would you charge to take a stock 330/Mid and refinish it to a 331LS. That is, create a new loom with lights and all the gadgets? He he...

That's over the line, Scoob. More than it's worth, in other words.
Besides, that pearly acrylic is impossible to find...

Isn't it pretty close to this stuff?

Close, but the cigars remain in the box on this one.
There are quite a few pearlescent types of acrylic sheet available from my suppliers.
I do know that none of my plastics suppliers carries the type of sheeting used on a 331--it's called "lenticular swirl", although Rickenbacker may have used another name for it. Apparently it's been obsolete for awhile.
The stuff shown in the photo above is available, but is nowhere near transparent enough to work properly in transmitting and diffusing the light.
Imagine, though--a LS using high-intensity LEDS with very little power consumption and no heat...that guitar was 30 years ahead of the technology necessary to make it successful from an engineering/playability standpoint.

The "Lenticular Swirl"...destined to take the place of the Mud Shark in your mythology...
