Shaun, I was pushing Rutger in the thread "50 cents worth" in "The Others" a few days ago...

Love the first three Jamiroquai albums too...

Good man Andrew! Rutger's lines are so important to the success of those amazing songs (technically I mean)...very, very underrated.

As for Stuart Zender, he's possibly my favourite modern player, although I haven't heard anything from him for a while. To think he'd only been playing 2 years when he did Emergency on Planet Earth...love his tone on those albums too. Something I've tried (and failed!) to duplicate with various Warwicks over the years....

Stu Zender!

Wow, big fan here.

I LOVE his Warwick sound, and I don't like Warwicks!

Yeah, I think in his case the sound probably IS all in the hands....it certainly wasn't in mine!

Ronn, "Is Tears of a Clown" Jamerson also like many Miracle's hits?

"... 3 parts that really stand out for me though are the low part in "The Fish" (Mr Squire take a bow)"

That's a Fender Jazz, so I've read. All the other parts on The Fish are the Ric.

Just different...

I agree with the list of the top Bass performances with Geddy Lee, Chris Squire and the others.

If there was a list on the Best "Bass Tones", I would go with Chris Squire, Dave Meros ( Spock's Beard ), John Wetton and Geddy.

In such case my list would start with Glover, Kaye, and Wetton.

In going through my file cabinets today I found a VHS instructional video of "Bass Guitar Master Class With John Entwistle" with the original booklet. This is left over inventory from my old shop.

Anyone interested in it? This is not a dupe, but the original retail item.
