This discussion always amazes me when it comes up.

I know who the Forum members are on here that have more financial resources than I do and I generally know who is interested in what. So if I see them bidding on something and I know they are more interested than I am then I'll not bid so I don't cost them extra money since I won't be the high bidder anyway. But if I want something I don't care who else wants it.....if they want it more (and have more $$$$) than they'll outbid me and I'm fine with that.

Bottom line is that if you want something bid your max and don't worry about what everyone else is doing. If you are working a deal on something....don't mention it until the deal is done. If you mention it on the Forum just have common sense and know that it is a public forum. There is nothing connected with this Forum that is worth getting angry about....even if someone wrongs you (or you think they did) get over it and move on.....life is too short to waste time with such trivial garbage.

When I bought my 4003s8 in January off of the Dudepit there were at least two Forum members here that emailed the seller and offered him more money to sell it to them after we made a deal.....now that is wrong and lucky for me the seller did the right thing and honored our transaction.

So just in case.....I call dibs on all Blackstars and 4004LK's.....thank you for understanding.....Image

Yep....I have an educated guess who they were. If I was sure I would have announced it to the world but since I'm not positive I'd rather not risk mentioning who in case I am wrong.

"It's not just Rickenbackers that have rising prices"

You aren't kidding. Ever try to buy a Pre-CBS Jazz Bass for under 9 grand?

At least with a Rickenbacker you can be sure that the neck on the bass is the same neck it left the factory with.... there are so many parts Fenders on Ebay I won't touch them with a 100 ft pole.

I think it is too bad also. But there is nothing I can do about it so there is no need to dwell on a few others' character flaws.

There are a number of guys here whom I would trust with any/all of my collection. I like to think of them as friends at this point.

Ted,I just got a little heated up in our discussion earlier.I was going to send you a email apologizing.

The v63 when that auction was going on was a nightmare for me not only did everbody know I was bidding way high on this bass someone even chose to put it in the for sale section here under "NOS v63 for sale" thats when the bid went from $2000.to $2800.in minutes I thought it was all uncalled for these people discussing what I was loosing my a-- on didn't care! Anyway it was a sore subject that worked out OK.

I have noticed lately that alot or ricks have been selling on e-bay for less than a grand . I bought two in the last month . A 74 in great shape for 950.00 and that 81 4001S for 999.00 I just saw a newer fireglo on ebay go for 950.00 . I hope its a downward trend in pricing for ricks .Ok , A man can dream cant he .lol
