These things are pretty much relaxed. The hotel will set up the room to my request, and all you need to do is show up. I'm planning on getting in around 10am Friday to be there for early arrivals, and we'll probably have the room open until maybe 10pm. The room will be locked overnights. Saturday, I figure 9am to 10pm, and Sunday maybe 10am until everyone disappears. If you want overnight accommodations at the hotel, call 414-615-8076 to speak with Pamela Beaver (really!) and she will set up your reservation with our $89 room rate. Make sure she understands you are with the guitar convention.

Yeah! The glaciers may even recede by late April! Just kidding. Not much snow here, and tomorrow we're rainy and in the low 50s. Saw Red-Winged Blackbirds today, my official sign of spring.

We're four weeks away now, and I'm getting antsy. I'm hoping to attract some unusually finished Ricks and have a line on a couple of collectors that don't frequent the Forums. I know we'll have at least 30 basses there between me, Ted Staberow, Jeff Thomas, and Brian Crisman. You'll also be able to meet Gary Hahlbech of Northcoast Music, big Rick and Hofner dealer, and hopefully dozens of other Rick enthusiasts. Don't forget to book your room if you're staying overnight. As we get closer to the date, I'll give driving directions, but you won't have any trouble finding the place. Signs will be scattered about inside to direct you to the meeting room. Looking forward to meeting all of you!

Unfortunate news...
Due to some personal stuff, I can't make it to this one.
I am working out the details, but the Redneck should be in attendance.

Drat, Marc, it just won't be the same without you. It will be something, however, just not the same. Redneck coming to a new owner in these parts, perhaps? Hmm?

Well, the new owner thing is still up in the air but, I think regardless, the Redneck needs to be there, so safe passage will be arranged.

So close-yet so far...

Well, if you're free, Chicago is a 90-minute drive. On business? Visiting family?

OOOH!
Now I'm coming into O'Hare at 2PM Sat.
How far? Business meeting all week.
Is Gurnee along the way?

Yes, Gurnee is right along the freeway. Going shopping or do you like roller coasters? The Confluence goes through Sunday, you know. You could get a rental car and be up here in less than two hours, stay overnight, have time Sunday at the Confluence, get back to Chicago for meetings on Monday.

Hmm. Not sure if Jeff means to put over your head to remain anonymous, or to use on the BIG roller coasters at Great America in Gurnee. Just don't use it for both! 8^(
