Once you get your mitts on one of these you will see why the price of admission is worth it.

I notice that they have a reserve on it. Correct me if I'a wrong, but I don't remember there being a reserve on the other auctions.

Charles, I scored the last one on eBay. It started with an opening bid of $0.99, I think. I placed a fairly high opening bid and it immediately, and automtically, bid me up to the reserve, which was around $110-120. Final price was $139.50

Now if I could only get a Japanese to English translation, it would be the be all and end all for me (I just drool over the pix currently). Until that day, I'm happy with Richard Smith's book

Someone needs to get a book, and make really high resolution scans. Then they could post it on the 'net for everyone to view.

Well, Nick, I hope that doesn't happen. I can't say what the copyright laws are that protect foreign publications, but as a writer and editor, I'd be lining up lawyers if it happened to me. Just because we "can" scan and post doesn't mean that it's legal to take food off someone's plate. Books, no matter what language they're in, cost money to make, and to cover cost, make profit, and invest in the "next" book, publishers charge money. Every book publisher faces the threat of unlawful distribution, and this is especially serious in the Orient where copyright laws and enforcement are a foreign concept.

In my opinion, if Rittor really wanted to make money, they'd rerelease it. Everybody wants a copy.

Nick, you have a lot to learn about copyrights and ethics. How would you feel if you put a lot of time, effort, money, etc. into producing a book on the Beatles only to find it being distributed for free by someone who scanned it and offered it on a website for all to download?
