Speaking of John Fogerty, I would love to see someone turn one of these 1996 models into a replica of his Rick that he used with Creedence. There are plenty of Lennon, McCartney and Harrison clones out there, it would be nice to see a Fogerty one for a change.

I would love to do it, but the one mod Fogerty made that would make me cringe involves the bridge pickup. If you remember, Fogerty removed the original toaster and had it routed for a Gibson humbucker. I just can't see myself hacking up a perfectly good Rick that way, especially a brand new and hard to find model like the 1996 reissue. All of the other mods, such as the Bigsby vibrato, Grover tuners and homemade "ACME" nameplate would be pretty easy.

So you don't mind seeing a perfectly good Rick hacked up, as long as it's somebody else's Rick?

I thought I read somewhere that Fogerty later regretted his modifications...

A Rick humbucker could be installed in the bridge position without the "hacking up" it would take to install a Gibson pickup, and it would probably sound pretty close, if not better.
When I said I wanted to see a Fogerty clone, I forgot about the bridge pickup.

Seeing as some of these have reportedly shipped in the US, I thought I'd revive this thread.

I think that it would be cool to see a John Fogerty 325, but I would not route or drill the top of one of my ricks. I think that the novelty of a John Fogerty Rick would wear off and I would feel guilty. That why I won't Lennonize my c58. And I am a luthier.

They actually did receive it, a single one, a day or two after info about the shipment was posted. I ordered my 1996 from them that day.

Anyone from around here receive one of the two 325c64's that North Coast got recently? I presume not, since otherwise the forum would be all abuzz...?
