Looks like a black or dark red (unidentified? Non-bealte owned?) strat in the middle of that pic on the left.

Yeah, thanks for mentioning it Glenn, didn't notice before. Also on the right photo, looks like an f hole on the 3 series.

The Strat belongs to one of the opening acts of The Beatles' late 1965 UK tour, but I can't remember the name of the band....

Jerry: That f-hole is on John's RM1996. That was his back-up guitar he got when his second 325 was damaged.

Randy - that's what I figured...sorta mentioned it 'cause it gives us a chance to think about the gorgeous re-issue Rickenbacker (JH) gave us this year!

That strat also looks like it has a painted headstock, talk about rare.
I look forward to the 1996 reissues.

Jerry: Yep, I've got my 1996 AFG on order with NCM. My first electric guitar was a butchered '64 325 FG with F-hole purchased in 1979 ($300). It's a privilege to have the chance to buy a new 1996 at a mere fraction of the cost of an original in today's market. I actually like the Rick reissues (V-series and C-series) better than my original pieces. I'm at the point in my life that I prefer shiny new mint condition guitars to those with 'mojo'. I'm happy to let the collectors to fight over the $10,000 originals.
