I now have 4 guitars total. Does that count? I'd better keep them separated, I wouldn't want any cross-pollinization going on. Imagine that mutation!

Howard, I have a Kangaroo skin a good customer brought me as a gift. I hear some consider them pests. Certainly not Mick Dundee though!

My favourite Australian "line" is one that I am sure has no basis in reality. You really have to see the what is going on to appreciate it but it goes something like ...

"That's not a knife. THAT'S a knife!"

I have a rather "large" hunting knife and I cannot unsheathe it without uttering that line.

That movie has its cringe factor but is still entertaining.

Dave -
I was a strat player before getting my Rick 6'er (had Rick basses and a 12), haven't picked up my strat in so long I feel guilty.
BTW, on this forum, we have become familiar with many member's couches via Rick photos.
Maybe there should be a thread - "Show us a picture of your Rick and couch"!

Jerry, I can see the whole theme...Superbowl Sunday, Ric's lined up on the sofa with TV, chips, beers, the whole nine...

Owners tucked away in people-shaped cases in the corner.

Hi Dave....welcome to the ward...I mean forum. I see you've already managed to warp the sense of humor around here even further. Now we're talking about Rics taking over our couches and snacks and us lounging around in coffins?!?! LOL! Image

Sup, Rob?

Hmmm, perhaps you're right, Gary. Sarcophogus' would really be more like it. I suspect some here will be buried with their Rics anyway, right?

A little off the beaten path but did anyone see VH1's "Behind The Music" with Pantera? They buried "Dime Bag" with a few of his gtrs and even Van Halen's striped axe from VH II. Moving, in a head-banging sort-of-way.

Anyone here see any advantage using .010's over .009 strings on a 330? Is it just a matter of preference? And is there a consensus on the best brand strings or is that once again, a personal thing?

Mine came with .009s. I got talked into 10's and didn't like them at all. I thought the larger diameter (albeit slight) took some of the trademark brightness away. That is a natural result of larger strings, correct? Seems that way to my wee brain at least hence, the 'bassier' A and E strings are rarely what you'd call bright...

I just put a set of .11-.48 Pyramid flats on my 330 and they're hands down the best strings I've ever used. I have a Victoria 5112 amp, and the 330 never sounded as good through it as I thought it should - until I put on the Pyramids. They're not bright, but chimey and airy and rich. I love em!

Dave, all my Ricks really came alive when I put 11's on them, with a wound G. They stay in tune much better and have a "bigger" sound.

These are the ones I use: http://www.juststrings.com/ebl-2208.html

OK, I should have stayed put over at the telecaster forum. Since finding this site a couple of weeks ago, I am the proud new owner of a 360 FG with Toasters courtesy of Pick of the Ricks.

An excellent choice! Now you need a 12, a bass,etc...
You get the picture.
