Here's a question for ya Eric. Why is the 4004 not offered as a fretless?

James - that's a nice looker! Image Hope it's a player too!

I see a little detail in the wood - nothing like those pics Jeff Rath posted but I bet it looks nice in person!

Dane,I have no idea why there's no FL 4004! That sure would look nice though. As for the NAMM guitars,I get to take them all home afterwards for "safekeeping" ;-)

The HB1's and their configuration would be a natural for a fretless 4004. I'm surprised I've never even seen one converted.

Here it is as a five string bass ... it has pretty wood ...

I may use it for gigs when I get to non-smoking Denver ... I didn't want to take it to bars here in Michigan because of the smoke here ...

Jeff, I always admired the wood on that bass and now I know why it lools especially nice.

I think I remember reading somewhere that RIC is releasing a new bridge assembly for the 4004 models. Anybody know if that's true and when that will be available?

So without reading through the whole thread and searching the archives for discussion (lazy), has anyone ever tried 4004s with single coils? Does it give you the Rick sound using correct pot values. It would be kind of like a modern S series one would think.
