Cool John! I started on my Ampeg odyssey with a B210SP, then an old B2R with Hartke 4x10, and then traded it all in for a new B2RE and a 410HLE Classic cab. I almost bought an SVTII last week but Bob Young talked me out of it. Says I should wait for a 70's vintage head!

Thanks for all the help everyone, I appreciate it!

I can't wait to fire up my mini Ampeg....all this "leaving the USA" stuff lit a fire under my butt.

It's a small start, but the B2R head and the 410HLE cab should be MORE than enough for my needs. I'm hoping I don't hear "turn up that bass" anymore! If I do, I can always drag out my Hartke 15 bottom and that SHOULD do the trick.

Thank goodness for Ebay, I paid about 1/3 of cost of new otherwise it never would have happened. Last night on Ebay, there was an SVT350? that sold in SECONDS with a BIN of $150.00...I spit my coffee all over the place...missed that one too by a SPLIT SECOND, or should I say a SPIT second!

Tony, if it's any consolation, I've read the SVT350 doesn't sound that good - SS.

Charly - you could always get the SVT II (not a Pro? - then it is pretty close to the later SVTs) and enjoy that until a 70's head comes along and then move the SVT II. I really like my SVT II Pro.

Any Ampeg amp users?

I think it is a pro. For all I know, it is still there.

SVT II Pro on top of SVT 8x10E. No complaints.

Can you say cahones?! Someday if I get a van or pickup, I would consider an 810. I have enough trouble with the SVT-2 Pro and the SVT410HLF getting them into the Impala... not a hauling type vehicle.

Thanks John, I wonder what the prices are going to be like a year from now. Image

One of these days I'll nail an Ebay treasure at a nice cheap price!

If you can't nail all toob, get an SVT-3 Pro. All toob front end almost identical to a 2 Pro. And it weighs a lot less.
