It's got a pretty nice hand rubbed gun oil tint "#8" jazz width neck on it with the birds eye maple fretboard. It's a keeper!

My humble noisemaker.

Sansamp RBI, QSC power amp, tuner, Carvin 4x10 cab with Peavey speakers in it, Peavey 1x15 cab. POD is in there just for when I'm told to play acoustic guitar in some of our sets. It's reasonable (but not perfect) through the 4x10 (acoustic guitar, that is).

Erik, I like it quite a bit. It's the RMX850, not quite a beast like other power amps, but more than adequate to keep up. And I like the flexibility of being able to use it all as a bass amp or split up between the two channels, running guitar or keys one way and bass the other. Very clean sounding, a little noisy with the fan, but I understand the newer models are much quieter and lighter.

I've been thinking about adding a QSC RMX850 to my rig.

I'm not so original in my thinking I guess...

My son is getting back into playing so I guess the next step is get an amp that can do justice for the new LDS 4x8. I have an old Trace Elliot combo which is shot, but the amp portion still works fine as a pre-amp. I have an old set of rack bars, so it's either:

Lop off the top of the old BLX-80 so the amp has protection, or...

Build a custom rack so that I can attach the Trace head to the underside and have some room for a power amp and possibly a few other toys.

The QSC 850 seems to be the best fit of what I am looking for in power (the LDS is rated at 600 W). My son can keep the Carvin 2x10 (almost exactly like Scott's, but older) and the Behringer head.

I better go look in the garage again.

I'm running a 4x10 and/or (depending upon the room) a 1x15, both or either being more than adequate to get the job done.

I'm pretty sure this is the smallest and certainly the most powerful for it's size!

About 40 lbs. and 450 watts rms @ 8 Ohms. The cabinet is 17 1/2" x 16" x 13". The amp is 12" x 18" x 3".

Jeffrey, I use watts to cook eggs etc... for the Ricks I use SPL (dB). There are speakers that can produce over 100dB per 1Watt and 1m, others only 90dB something, but to raise the SPL for 3 dB you need double Watts, now calculate...

That's why I like BIG speakers, much more efficient. I have heard and played though set ups like Jeffrey's, they will surprise the heck out of you.
