Great pics Darren. Looks like you all had a really great time. Makes me wish I was there already. November can't come fast enough for me.

The Nighthawk Blues club is about five minutes from my house. Last night the blues band "The King Bees" were playing. They are a really tight, classy outfit.

The owner of the club happened to be chatting to Aitch about Rickenbackers and the next thing I knew, I was being invited to sit in with The King Bees for a set.

My wife Robyn delivered my favourite Capri (she's the best looking roadie I've ever seen!) and Ron Viney kindly loaned me his Fender amp.

What a way to top off the day! The Capri absolutely smoked and I think I demonstrated that a Rickenbacker is capable of way more than just the 60s jangle. Image

Darren: Thanks for these updates. I feel like I am there following you from one venue to the next.

Amen to that, not that too many here would doubt that in the right hands a Ric can hold it's own in the lead guitar role. What a magic experience to see Darren cut loose with these guys, who were brilliant as a 3 piece blues band, but add one Darren Trott and everything just lifted to another level and all done off the cuff. (It's not fair that some of us missed out in the talent department - but it's a real pleasure to experience how it's supposed to be done) Well done Darren

Ack! You should've video'd it and put it up on Youtube.com. I'd love to see/hear Darren tear it up! :-)

I agree with you wholeheartedly John regarding videoing Darrens set last night! Rumor has it that he has been invited back to play with them again, so i'll have the video cam ready and waiting!
Yesterday's get-together was one awesome experience, and to have Alisha with us made it so much more the better!
40+ Rickenbackers in the same room even blew the studios owners away!
A heap of fun that continued into the early hours of Sunday morning!
C'mon guys, lets meet at the studio for a repeat session, say, in one hours time???

Woudn't we love to, Greg!!

However, today is Mothers' Day and consequently declared a 'jam free zone'. That's not to say that Alisha and I might not warm up the amps later tonight! Image

Great day! I have loads of fun, it was great having the large stage to our selves, then our private room for the 33 Ricks I think it was? It was an awesome turn out on the day, the stage was barely big enough for us all! As you will see in the pictures we had an awesome setup lighting and sound wise, make it all the more fun.

Here are some pictures my dad Joe took from the day, there great pics, I didn't want to make them small so they would fit on this site so I hosted them on another site, enjoy!

Well it was a memorable day and loads of fun,a credit to the character of everyone there; and it has got me interested again.

It must have been the biggest and best collection of Ricks this side of the equator.

Now, when is the next jam.
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.
