Never had an overwhelming itch to buy a new Rick...I'm sure the inlays had something to do with it. The floating inlays didn't do it for me. I bought a few Ricks with dots. But now, dang, I have a whole new wish list.
FWIW, me and my rather wide fingers prefer the thin neck of my '66 360/12 to the 660/12. And I bought the 660/12 (first) just to address the big fingers/small neck issue. You just have to work with it, you'll get used to it!

while polyester is guaranteed to shrink and yellow, UV or not, and nasty to work with. If mixed with thickening agents it is also hydrophilic, absorbs water if not sealed, whereas epoxy needs no thickening and is impervious to moisture. I propose the clarity and color of epoxy could be indistinguishable from the old poly fills with a little trial and error. Epoxy costs more but c'mon, we're talking a few ounces for inlays.
