I just think that there needs to be a break from threads about what may happen...especially when there is advice requested as it often isn't listened to.

I think that you hit it right on the head, Matt. Now, I'm going to go and drink some green beer!

Maybe it's me, but this is developing into a soap opera. The kind you really disapprove of intellectually but watch anyway 'cause you have to know how the sub-plot turns out involving the Lithuanian co-joined twins who are both secretly having an affair with the same Egyptian midget, who is blackmailing their rich uncle because he has the negatives of the shots taken in flagrente with the unicyclist at the Wall Street New Years Party, but is also being hunted by an impossibly craggy rogue FBI agent because the background image in one of the negatives shows the Leader of the House pocketing a kickback from that shady arms dealer from an ex-soviet republic, who was last seen in episode three of series two when it was revealed that he was the sperm donor for Angela's triplets, who have a unique genetic condition that requires they live in a weightless environment, which was discovered by the pioneering research scientist Rhianna, who has a secret life as a stripper, which is how she met Ted, the one-armed hit-man with the burning hatred of Ronaldo, the Italian fashion designer who wooed Ted's bride during their honeymoon in Monaco after the incident at the roulette table involving the ex-KGB codebreaker and the magnum of Louis Roederer champagne that was a gift from the pretender to the French throne who had been at college with Ted's cousin Beatrice, better known as "Iron Betty", the world shot-putt champion and mistress of the Clifton, chairman of the Wall Street firm that threw the New Years Party, who may or may not have known of the events that occured at the party. Of course, the fact that Ted threw snake eyes during the incident is pivotal, as the security video footage viewed by Jean-Claude clearly shows that the dice were substituted by Serge, Ronaldo's half-brother, who was in a hypnotic trance acting under the suggestion of Dr Moritz, the bogus psychologist and weight-loss guru whose chat show has suffered a dramatic ratings collapse following the appearance on it of a genetically-engineered super-mouse that can speak five languages, which was proven to be a hoax by the famed linguist Professor Von Steinitz due to an obvious gramatical error when answering a question in Finnish... I could go on, but that's enough for now - you get the gist!

Jake, relax! Concentrate on your school work and on learning to be a better guitarist. Everything else will work out fine! Please let us know how they do work out though.

I'm in Austin for work at the moment and I've been laughing so hard that I'm sure the people in the room next door think I've lost my mind.

BTW, I applaud all of you who are so graciously holding your tongues.

OK...now to take up Paul's request to brag about kids. I'm proud of all them, from #1 who is finishing the first year of her Residency in General surgery through the youngest one (#6) who has Down Syndrome and severely handicapped. As proud as I am of them all, there are days when one of Jackson's accomplishments gives me more joy than I could possibly imagine. In the world's eyes it would be nothing, but to me, it's as spectacular as anything his older brothers and sisters have ever done.

Evan, did you used to write for Prisoner: Cell Block H? I could remember my mom watching that EVERY day. You nearly made me spit up my green beer! A liitle dramatic, but I get the point.

Since the wife and I don't have any kids, I could always talk about somebody else's kids. :D There's a young man (a senior in high school) that works at my wife's store who happens to be an excellent guitarist. He wants to have a career in music, so a couple of weeks ago he auditioned for a spot at the Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music in Virginia. He had to perform an original guitar composition and do some sight reading as well. He was pretty nervous before the audition, but my wife and I knew that he would do very well. Late last week, we found out that he got accepted into the school, and we even found out today that he got a partial scholarship as well. We were just as proud of him as if he was our own son. His parents have done a great job of raising him, and he's a fine young man.

As we say down here - "on ya John!" ("on ya" being a contraction of "good on you", said with emphasis). As father of a brace of very mildly handicapped children (cleft palate and Asperger's syndrome) I greatly admire your fortitude and attitude.

Sorry about the beer. I was taking a break from writing a Newsletter for the Chess Club at our local primary (elementary) school (headline: Bishop catches Queen in dalliance with Knight!) when this all just gushed out. It only happens a couple of times a year when I forget to take my medication... oops - off to the medicine cabinet for me!

Sorry Howard, it must have been a different Bishop. I should check my sources more thoroughly!
