Which left me with these 2 parts of the broken socket...................

So I was left with the 4 components, that go together to make the completed socket....................first part to assemble was the main body of the socket and the part on the left...............these 2 parts just solder together..............

First I soldered the main socket body, to the left hand tail part................. I pushed the spring part inside just to give me a guide that the tail part was centred.....................

Then I put the insulating disc on top of that and then soldered the second half of the tail on.....................this also holds the spring in place and holds the whole assembly together...................

Then it was just a question of inserting the repaired socket into the board. Here, the right hand tail is soldered in and the left hand tail is ready to solder.....................

Here we have it..........now in situ...................not pretty.......but solid!

Then it was just a reverse process to put it all back together......................

Here's a second socket that I took out and repaired. The soldering was a little neater on the second one!..........................

Then the board was back in and ALL lights working! Whoo hoo!....................
