Bert, you get 97 octane? Mine was a type - actually 87.
And Steve, as a reaction to the over-taxation we are living under - "It's my money and I need it now!!!"

Yes, it wasn't a typo. The car runs more KM per Liter with 97 than with 95 octane. 87 isnt even available over here.

87 octane? We call that paraffin (kerosene) here in the UK, and use it to run our greenhouse heaters!

Here is an explanation of our octane vs the world - we are about 5 points below what Europe reports.

I have modified Corvette 350's (5.7L) in my cars and they run fine on 87, no pinging or knocking at all.

I dont notice any in my '94 24v 525i when run on 95 (the lowest we can get in europe) also. But the car just runs faster and with better fuel economy when run on 98.

European and American octane ratings use different scales: 87 in the U.S. translates to about 91-92 in Europe.

Everybody's on the Shelby bandwagon, it seems...here's Fender's Strat version. It fails to appeal.

The obvious question is: why didn't Fender do a Shelby Mustang, rather than a Strat?

Interesting tie in with the pic of the guy adjusting the mechanical diesel pump - we just hit $3.999 today.
