John, being a first class host, arranged a very special evening. We attended a concert at University of Richmond by the Punch Brothers. This is an extremely talented and cool band featuring Chris Thile, known for being part of Nickel Creek (mandolin). These guys were on the level of Bela Fleck, etc. and totally blew us away for two hours. This is definitely in my top 5 best concerts EVER. After the show we got to meet the whole band and take pictures and get autographs on their new CD. I highly recommend it. Go and check out this band right now.

John and I also had a great dinner before the show and visited a music store in Richmond. Here's some pics from tonight courtesy John's camera and photo skillz.

J Dog and their brand new bassist, Paul; this was his fifth gig with the band and he pwned!!!!

Jdog, cool you got to see and meet Nickle Creek - I've listened to them on XM now for quite a while. Excellent stuff. Sounds like you are having one great road trip!

Yeah but that score of 97% on the third try was pretty sweet!!!!!

And finally, the Launch Abort System, which will be on the Aries 1-X launch vehicle. This will prevent a disaster such as what happened with Challenger.

Thanks again John Koelling for the "inside" tour of LaRC. What a cool place to work!!! Now it's time for MARF 2 1/2.
