A fascinating thread, Ilan - thanks for showing us. I especially like the sensible step of using cross-head scews to act as seats for the adjustment grubscrews. It won't make this particular sow's ear into a silk purse, of course, but is certainly an improvement.

That mod was done to my 74 4001 before someone then fitted a badass. I found the telltale grub screws under all the bog!
Now it has a standard bridge. But I have corrected a neck angle problem as well.
I don't like moding rics, however I can see the value in this mod on an instrument that may have other issues. And this is a less destructive fix than many others....

Snagged an aluminium Dipstick. I'm going to trial it on my '74 4000 beater, and plan to use the original '74 tailpiece for my '72 restoration. I'll let y'all know how it works out!
