'twas a hit down here in Oz and I believe a minor hit in the UK. The fact that it was produced by a local music show host, "Molly" Meldrum, ensured it got huge airplay. The fact that Molly remains popular is a mystery. I've seen folk tarred and feathered for less....

And to think, a hit in a couple of countries that have produced so much great rock & roll. Go figure...

Thanks a lot, Sheena. I hadn't heard or even thought of that er, song since the mid-seventies. It'll probably be stuck in my head for a week.

I have one for you all...especially if you are a fan of CREAM! I am a big fan of Clapton, Bruce, and Baker and I know this is Heresy to some but here it is...LOL This version of "Tales of Brave Ulysses" is like no other...Thankfully! -BC
Thankfully that's NOT Cream making that awful noise Buddy.............

Very True! I would have never been a fan if they had sounded like this...but I still found it funny! -BC

"You Light Up My Life". I think I read somewhere it was the biggest selling song of the '70's. Are you kiddin' me? That song lights up something else I can't mention.

Grrr.... Thanks for reminding me that YLUML even exists!
I've managed to forget it up till now.
That song was everywhere, and IMO was about the worst thing ever to hit the airwaves.
I do remember a little virtual sweet revenge for having that song shoved in our ears.
At the Grammys that year, the song was up for song of the year.
The know-it-alls were saying it was a shoe-in.
The camera kept focusing on Ms. Boone, who had the gleam of sweet victory in her smug eyeballs.
Time to announce the winner, camera on her as the winner is announced, she starts to stand up...a different song wins!

Just stumbled on to this thread....this is hilarious--I had forgotten there was so much bad music out there! For me the worst ones are Air Supply (I am embarrassed to admit that I actually liked them when I was a lovesick teenager), Spandau Ballet--I especially despise their song "True," and also the BeeGees--I could never stand that falsetto disco stuff....Eeeewwwwww!
Who said Celine Dion? Awwww come on, she has a great vocal range, and I love to sing along with her.... Maybe that's one of my guilty pleasures!
