I got my 360/12C63. One question... there is often nitro lacquer used in "older" guitars. Does this have it? I'm asking because I don't wanna "burn marks" to my beautiful guitar from the guitar rack. Often there is warnings "not suitable for nitro lacquer guitars".

Here is my guitar:

Thanks again, everyone.

Petri - The 360/12C63 (like all modern RIC guitars) is not nitro finished. It is conversion varnish - a urethane finish. Congrats on your new guitar!

Thanks Kris. Now I can sleep my nights well. As I already wrote your guitar looks stunning! I like my 12C63 so much, that it came immediately one of my favorite (with my White Falcon). I have Gibson, Fender, Duesenberg etc. but this RIC that I got is absolutely gorgeous and sings like a Siren.

Thanks, I'm happy to be here. This RIC flied to my top guitar like a rocket. I have two favorite right now. The other one is Gretsch White Falcon LTV. They are very different, but amazing guitars both. One claim to be from 1955 and the other one from 1963.

The Gretsch White Falcon LTV would be based on the 59, the Falcon LDS would be based on the 55.

Cool guitars both! 8)

I'm late to the party - congrats Kris! I'm very happy for you. I've had a lousy few days and this really made my day today. Geez, you'd think I'd gotten a new guitar!

Congrats Kris, it's gorgeous. I got mine back in spring 2007 (after a 2-yr wait), and I remember you posting that you were hoping you'd be in the next batch. I thought 2 yrs was a long wait, but 1138 days is a LOOOONNGGGG wait.

How does it sound? Is it everything you expected, or are you finding things that surprised or disappointed you? The reason I ask is that while the setup and playability out of the box were both excellent, I still tweaked it for a few months until I got it EXACTLY the way I wanted it (and I'm talking about string type - flatwound - and action). The looks were absolutely stunning, but to be honest, at first it did not play as well as my 1980 360-12. Now, it does, and it's my absolute go-to 12 string.

Just wondered what your first reactions were. Congrats again.

Thanks for asking, Jerry. It plays and sounds great. I took it to practice with my band last night (first time we've been able to get together since I got it), and used it on everything. It gets some really nice overtones when overdriven, and chimes like a bell when played clean.

Like you, I adjusted the action, and now it's real easy to play - both open chords and barres. The one observation that surprised me (I'm not sure if anyone else has reported this) is that it has one short pole toaster and one long pole. I haven't measured the pickups yet to see if there's any difference in the resistance readings.

Hey Kris...Congratulations! I love the shading...looks very much like Harrison's. Great fun to be able to share your joy!
