Definitely a '62 American Vintage Precision, a Gibson EB-3, Hofner, and for the hell of it a Bass VI (massive Beatles, Floyd, and Cream fan here)

If there were no Rick basses, I'd keep my Geddy Lee Jazz, my Epiphone Allen Woody (love those mini humbuckers) and I'd add a Stingray to the mix (4 string only - a man's got to know his limitations). ;)

That being said, my 4003 JG ain't going nowhere!

If not my Ric, I'd be with one of my others, '62 RI Precision, '62 RI Jazz, or Hofner. I'd love to have a Gretsch or Epiphone Rivoli/Gibson EB-2 as well.

Well, until yesterday, there was no Rick! Yes, after about thirty years of lust I finally bagged a 2009 (December birth) 4003 in MapleGlo. So, before that it was up to my Warwick fretless or my Carvin 6-string fretless, or my Dean 6-string fretted. But now, the new sheriff in town wears a beautiful maple finish. I cannot quite believe how beautiful the TONE is on the 4003! That "I don't need to do anything except listen to the beauty of one note" feeling reminds me of how I feel about my acoustic guitars...just getting lost in that magical tone makes it clear what a wonderful instrument I now own. So yes, there is life without a Rick but there is MAGIC with a Rick!

P.S. Even though I have just joined today, for weeks I have benefitted greatly from reading through many, many posts here...thanks to all for their contribution. This Site is a valuable resource for Rick fans and owners.

Thank you, CJ!
BTW, I belong to Forums for my other interests and I have to say that your Forum here is populated by very nice folks. Some Forums get really juvenile and , um, TESTY...you folks know your manners! I like that!

Let's see:
Collings OM, 1970's Guild 12-string, Larivee parlor, Martin 16 series (Koa top and botttom), and some Taylors.

I almost pulled the trigger on a Larrivée flame maple body parlor guitar; I have a LV-19 Special Vine Edition.

Yup...that is mine but technically mine is swirly/cumulus looking maple. They call that "curly" I think. (I have a thing for flamed and curly maple...my Doyle Dykes Taylor is natural maple and features some of the most amazing curly figure I have ever seen.)
(And I also have the rosewood version of their parlor....I wanted to get the mahog to round out the collection but I came to my senses! Their parlors have a lovely and full sound.)

I think this would've been a more informative/interesting thread(IMO) if it had been "If not for YOUR Ric(S) then what OF YOUR OTHER BASSES would your favorite bass be?

So I'll answer that way:
My Eastwood EEB-1. It has a unique tone, kinda like a P-Bass but with the overall tone shifted slightly deeper(more lows, less highs).

Here is a photo of my LV-19, gorgeous rosewood back and sides. Since I can't afford a Rickenbacker acoustic, this will have to do.
