Any interest in non-traditionally Ric songs? I love early Bowie (Jean Genie, Ziggy Stardust, Panic In Detroit, Rebel Rebel, Man Who Sold the World, Suffragette City, etc) or Sex Pistols (Pretty Vacant), even Social Distortion! Who says Rics can't do that?
RE. Surf tunes: I've never worked out "Telstar" (although I do "My Heart Will Go On" from "Titanic" "in the style of..." ala Los Straitjackets), and "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly is my own (simplified) arrangement-I also do "Hang 'em High". The rest are no problem.

I like the idea of non-trad Rick songs-assuming I can borrow one of Paul's Accent-equipped 330's-I'm bringing my only Rick (330/12) and no other electrics. Does anyone have an A/E Rick for "Hello Mary Lou"? I love the picture of Ricky Nelson and band posed with Ricks! If not, I'll bring my J-200, but I'd really like to be all-Rick all the time.

Skip, the Accent-equipped TUR WB will be in attendance, with bridge cover still removed from the last jam, and at your disposal for any surf numbers you wish to bend strings with it on! :D 8)

Might have to seriously bribe Alberto to pound the tubs ong Crazy Train; he said he almost killed himself on that one; "Strutter's cool, but I don't want to do Crazy Train again; I know my limitations!"

I did a little of Dio's Holy Diver up at BARC last July, in honor of his passing. That seemed to work just fine on a Rick.

And I don't know why we seem to ignore the Ramones, 3 to 4 chords, easy to play even after a few beers, fun, and lot's of pictures showing Johnny Ramone playing a 450.

Ah, that's right! Thanks for reminding me of BARC, and the fact that we've ignored the Ramones. Obviously, we need to delve more into the modern stuff, especially when it's the Ramones, who fit the "songs you can play drunk" crieteria perfectly due to the 3-4 chords max per song their numbers are composed of! :D

Paul-as usual, you have proven yourself a gracious and generous human being (seriously!). If no A/E Rick makes an appearance, the TUR WB will handle the rhythm chores on "Hello Mary Lou" superbly.
I had a GREAT time at SG101 and am looking forward to AT LEAST as much fun on the 16th!

Got tickets for "Big Bang Theory"...I'm 80% on board...once I get past 50%, I'm pretty much committed.

In other words...

I'M GOING TO LOS ANGELES!

My mom doesn't want me bringing any guitars on the plane, so my question to any one is:

Will there be ANY Rics and amps for me to use? Gary C, may I use your 370/12 McGuinn? Dan S: may I use your 1997? Paul A, I talked with you, and you said I could use one of your Twins...may I use the Super Reverb instead? I've always wanted to play through one of those...

Yeah, Book 'em Dano -- I'm a Ramones fan too ! 8) How about we try "I Wanna Be Sedated" and "Blitzkrieg Bop" for catchy, fun, hard driving tunes for the SCARF jam

Paulie -- in keeping with the rebellious 80s spirit, can we append a couple of Ramones tunes to the The Jam contingent ??

Nope, you're out of luck; I thought you were bringing all the amps . . .
Actually, Rich and I are both bringing AC30s, and I'll be bringing the Fender Twin Reverb RI. I never bring the Super to jams, because it's larger cabinet dimensions prevent me from fitting the rest of my gear in the car, which I've been pretty efficient at, as Rich, Joey, and Gary can attest to. I don't think anyone was expecting you to bring a guitar, and at the events, polite requests to try, along with offers to let try, abound, so yes, yo'll be able to play someone's Rick. Thank you for asking ahead of time though. :)

I'm not bringing that Super; the box is too tall, height wise to fit well with the rest of the gear.Everything fits into the car a certain way. I'm bringing all of my Ricks, and two "suitcase" The dimensions of the Super don't lend itself well to fitting with the rest of the gear that I have to get into the car.

Rich, I'll gladly add some Ramones numbers to the 80s set.

This can fix that problem, Paul.

We actually did just such a thing to a nice Baldwin church organ in the early '70s to make it more easily transportable. However, we had to put all of the tube electronics in the upper section, making it quite heavy!

What kind of car do you have? I read on another thread you're bringing the AC-30 HW2 and a Twin for amps. May I use the Twin, then? I take it the Super would work if you had a truck?

You're welcome to use the Twin, unless someone's plugged into it and playing when you step onstage, but if you want to coordinate that section of the jam, that should pose no porblems. I'm sure you'll have a chance to play through it in any case. I think everyone's pretty accomodating. There is usually a plethora of amps at these things, so lots of choices. You're also welcome to try my AC30 H2. :)
