Even though I can't attend I should finally get one of those 325JL raffle tickets!
Is it me or am I forgetting things all the time? Maybe I'm getting old

The last time I checked it was..... I'll have to ping my nephew (Virginia Beach) to make sure it's still there.

If it started moving, it must've headed south as it's not washed up here
*sorry for derailing*

Welcome, Ilias.

You folks have had a few confluences down there. Perhaps not as big as something like MARF but I bet more brew was downed!

Wondering, shouldn't this thread be relocated in the Conferences and Confluences section .... or combined or added to the thread that was originally posted there ?
I only noticed this because I was trying to pass on a link referral to MARF IV to an interested person and the old thread in the Confluences sector didn't have the details of date and place, etc.

I'm looking into the possibility of visiting this event, not least because I did some business with POTR recently and found them to be knowledgeable and very professional.
I know that visitors are encouraged to bring along a collectable instrument for others to view/try out. Does anyone know what difficulties I might encounter from either US or UK Customs officials if I was to take a Rickenbacker guitar over to the US and bring it back to the UK again? - subject, of course, to not being made an offer I couldn't refuse! Are there any special procedures in place for such a scenario - I would hate to get hit again with Import Duties and VAT when bringing a guitar back into the UK!

Hi James, we hope to see you there! IMHO, I would leave your guitar at home, as there will be Ricks-a-plenty there to play, and it will be one less headache for you.
What it boils down to in the end is that it is more about the people then the guitars anyway.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa....
What year and model?????
But seriously, yeah, JB's prolly right. But if you wanna bring it, I think if you keep your customs paperwork when you leave (proof you brought it with you) including good documentation of the serial number, you oughtta be ok. That would be really lousy to have to pay to re-import it. But unless it's particularly cool, leave 'er at home. And welcome! Come on over, it'll be fun!!!
