I got no rattling from the rods without tape or heat shrink tubing.

I got some problems flattening the neck on this bass. When the bass side is almost flat just by using the bass side rod, then the treble side (mostly the G-string) is back bowing.

As I’m able to get the action where I like it, I’ll leave it like that. I’ve adjusted the neck with most of the tension on the bass side rod, opposite of the previous situation, and maybe with time the neck will slowly twist back.
