Lord knows we need a new special edition Strat. It must be close to a milestone for Fender. I'm thinking they must be turning 65. Maybe they can come out with the Medicare edition Strat.

Re: Have we become jaded?
I'd be thrilled (and would be looking to buy something new) if they'd just bring back the black trim option. I mean just black binding, pickguards, and TRC. Black hardware might be nice too, but that would be a much bigger inventory issue on top of whatever other problems there may still be with making them black. I never really cared for black hardware anyway.
Having an option for checkered binding would be extremely cool!
And a super-mega cool thing would be the option to order fancy figured wood, but I can see how that could really cause production issues...

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Pia? If we don't consider the lovely girl with that name, what's it mean? I bet I should know, but...jingle_jangle wrote:Ummm...finishing tends to be the bottleneck. If it's RICs 80th then we should be sending gifts to them - one doesn't usually give away gifts on ones own bDay, right, but gets gifts

I like to throw the odd one in for effect.
Anyway.....

Either works. In Acronyms, it's common to eliminate articles, unless they contribute to the flow of the acronym.

I like PITA; it's more complete, and it reminds me of the tasty flat bread sandwich.
Oh, RIC did have new carpet at its NAMM booth last year. . .

Well on the bright side, all the other manufacters will have something new to offer, me personally cant wait till Ashdown unviels its new flip top combo bass amp, from what I understand they are comming out with a 30 watt and 200 watt version, so looking forward to the unvieling, and reviews of these combo's, then thier availability and prices, so for me there is plenty to look forward to, well as far as being jaded, you may be right, I am used to Ric doing nothing new over last couple of years to the point that they arent even a blip on the radar screen for me, although I havent been able to attend a NAMM show yet, I still get excited to all the new stuff all the other maufacters are releaseing.

Re: Have we become jaded?
Best thing I ever read was someone on a music forum replied to another used who wrote ROFLMAO that users who wrote that were part of some kind of communist Mao sect. The troll really believed that and didn't want to have anything to do with people who wrote ROFLMAO. So we started using ROFLSTALIN, which actually meant something, but I forgot what...jingle_jangle wrote:Either works. I don't mind at all if they don't have anything new this year. I understand they're trying to reduce the backlog--I hope they do, so they can start offering some of the options that used to be available. I'd love to have a 370 double-bound, with checkerboard binding and the 660 neck width!
