Given the double booking, I don't come in until about 9:30 AM. But I'll hold him to his on-air promise to do a full hour show . . . and also make sure he turns down that truly annoying background music!

Good to hear about the background hash, as that music got a bit in the way of the dialog.

For 6 quintessential songs, perhaps the consensus would include songs with a great history to them, especially with the pioneering of the Ric 12 string, such as 3 Beatles and 3 Byrds songs.

Impossible to narrow it down to six songs, but I'll try:
1. "Mr. Tambourine Man" (The Byrds)
2. "Chimes of Freedom" (The Byrds)
3. "If I Needed Someone" (The Beatles)
4. "Ticket to Ride" (The Beatles)
5. "Green Grow the Rushes" (R.E.M.)
6. "Good Advices" (R.E.M.)

I am surprised nobody mentioned Smoke on The Water...Roger Glover and Deep Purple. The 4001 bass drives the song IMO.

Late to this one - but maybe for the hour-long show they could include "Almost With You" by the Church. Great sounding jangle on this one! And the quintessential Church song, according to singer/bassist Steve Kilbey.
