Isn't it pretty obvious, guys?
1. Mitch's dealer (who he doesn't identify, but my guess is a big online retailer like Music 123 or equivalent) has sent him an automated e-mail, based upon a very old delivery date they were given, and which they entered into their system and never updated. As far as they're concerned, RIC once said "August 19, 2005" and therefore, August 19 it is. So although they're technically not "messing", they are out of touch with RIC while attempting to appear as if they are in touch. This is the half that is wrong.
2. The "half right" is that Mitch WILL see his guitar this year. It just won't be August 19.

I understand your implied irony, Brian. My comment was housekeeping in nature for the literally-minded among us.

Well, it's been a while since I looked at this thread. I wonder if Nick received his guitar yet. I hope he isn't dangling from a chandelier. I loved his posts. You can see the poor guy just screaming as he typed. Well anyway, I hope he got one or at least is getting one soon.

If it's Music 123, I wouldn't put too much stock into it... I ordered a 360 BlueBurst and a 380L from them last year, then CANCELLED my orders after 9 months with no explanation other than "closeout." But from reading on the forum a while back, RIC probably cancelled their orders...

Yeah, RIC cancelled them. It seems like they were aging their invoices from RIC so long that they were growing white whiskers. And attempts by RIC to communicate a warning fell upon deal ears.
Something about them switching to a new computerized inventory/billing/accounting system to go with their new warehouse, but if they didn't pay their bills, sadly the customer takes it in the shorts and pays THEM back with less repeat business.
