Phil! I was wondering where you have been. You have not been posting much lately. I bid on that horseshoe on Ebay then I noticed that you were already on it. If you want it, I will back off and wait for the next one.

Phil's looking to take advantage of that exchange rate againImage Do you intend to drop it in the 65 Phil?
Still, it looks like Ted's got his eye on that beautiful F/G 4000...

Getting back to the 58...under 2 hours and still no bids....anyone going to step up late and grab it??

Phil, I,ll happily get together for a U.K. summer noggin and natter. It would be great to meet up and put faces to names etc..Hopefully Henny can make it and any other U.K. Ric owners as well...
A lawyer getting the beers in too..Image

About what I thought it would go for. You wonder how much more it might have fetched if not for that break...still a cool piece. I'd take this rather than a CS for the same price...

U.S. east coast, U.K. east coast, West coast, coast to coast, a new Ric world order across the globe. We're all a brotherhood hereImage

Yes, Wints, the 65 is the intended transplantee, to give it a little more bite. Mike, mail for you.

$4550 - usual pattern, no interest until the last few hours. Not a bad result. I thought it was nice, and very nearly pushed the button early on, until the Chief Domestic Officer happened to peer over my shoulder.

Belatedly, but thanks, Mike, for the catalogue shot. BTW, how many pieces would you say were auctioned off? I know JE had *far* more than what's shown in his book.

Andrew - $7000 (U.S., I assume) would've been way out of my comfort zone, but I know there was someone on this forum talking about doing one up like that - I've always half heartedly thought about it, and we'll see once I hear about how it went for him. As for JE's 8 - good thing it didn't go for the estimated price - you would've been kicking yourself then, and I'd be doing the same thing now. Image

Regarding the '58 - as has been mentioned, the eBay trend these days is to have no action on a high dollar item, only to see a flurry near the end. I find that annoying (not that I can do anything about it), because I can't get a read on where the auction's headed at all. I guess that's partly the point though. :-\

That's the way I do it to keep the shill bidders and ebay rookies under control. Make up your mind what you're willing to pay and bid at the last minute. If someone outbids you, they wanted it more and it wasn't meant to be!
