Here are mine:
The Apple Scruffs - from the George Harrison tune - we did a lot of CSN, Joni Mitchell, Dylan - can't remember how we decided on this name.
The Jolly Beggars - 3 piece Irish band-did a lot of traditional music in a fusion kind of style - a la Pogues, Spirit of the West- Bushmills, Guinness and Planxty had a lot to do with picking this name!!
The Swinish Multitude - from the writings of Edmund Burke. Heavy Celtic, bass, drums, big honking accordion, etc. - I had no part in choosing this name, this was a band I floated into for about a year.
Stubby Longfellow - my current band for the last 5 years or so. It's a duet, I do strings (bouzouki, mandolin, guitar), the other guy plays mostly winds (recorder, whistles, uilleann pipes, bodhran). We do everything from Christy Moore to original tunes to Leonard Cohen to the Grateful Dead. I've already explained this one-I'm 5'3", my buddy is 6'9"
Three Simple Words - my other current project. One guy plays electric mostly, the other guy plays acoustic, banjo, and dulcimer, and I have my usual complement (with a 360 on the way of course!!) The most difficult name to decide upon. Eventually we all just chose one word and fused them together.
