I've also done a couple of AquaGlo bursts for Kevin.
This Capri is a '60, like my own. I think I prefer the AquaGlo to the modded Autumnglo I did on mine four years ago!
I enjoy the positive feedback and learn from the negative. It's how I keep fueled through those long evenings sanding and spraying.
A couple of '58s coming up; more basses, Jeez...gotta keep the rhythm going...must sleep...is it morning already???

Do you drink Red Bull or something Paul?
Where do you get the energy to do all of this?!
When I get home from work I bump into furniture and walls until I eventually collapse on the couch!

Me too, Jeff...except in between, there's some guitars and basses crying for attention.
Can't stand the taste of Red Bull. Must be a youth thing?

Paul did a similar burst on a customized 360/12V64 for me about two years ago. The project included three Toasters, checked binding, R Tailpiece, gold plastic, and black knobs.
You can see some pics on page 19 of this thread:

I know! Talk about a severe attack of RAS when I saw the photo! I remember thinking that that should be a standard burst at RIC.

Kevin, that's a fantastic looking burst! I also noted the creative knob setup -- 3 large knobs for volume and blend, 2 small knbs for tone control. Is the wiring standard or custom -- that is, do each of the 3 large knobs control volume for one of the 3 pickups, using the blend for #3?

Some acoustics coming to fruition this week, both for Southern California residents.
Here's a Blueburst-ish 700C/12 with bound headstock, crushed pearl full-width inlays, and overtones of aqua pearl and violet. In these photos, it looks like another BBR, but get up close or in very bright light, and it gets all luminescent. This one will get gold hardware, guard, and TRC, and also an iMix dual element pickup system:
Back of headstock in ambient bright light:
Same headstock in Bright reflected sunlight:]
You can see the "flop" to the transparent pearl topcoats.
Next, a Teaburst 700S/6 with shaded sides and back and a pearl topcoat on the shaded front and neck. It looks like AFG, but there's actually a good deal of brown in the shading that doesn't photograph:
Unfortunately, the bright sunlight has washed out the deep poured pearl fret markers in this photo, but you get the idea:
This one will also get a gold guard and TRC, along with gold hardware and the iMix pickup system.
You can see the gold pearl (normally transparent) in the highlight from the sun in the neck heel in this shot:
Both of these are due to go out this week. I have several other acoustics and electric Rick guitars and basses in various stages of assembly, which are going out to customers in the USA and Europe, in the next week or two!

Paul, are these necks done in a CNC or by hand? Sheer perfection either way!

Thomas, I sculpt these 100% by hand, the "old-fashioned" way--with a spokeshave, rasps, and sandpaper in successively finer grades. At this point, no power tools are used. The small volume doesn't justify CNC.
As a result, no two are exactly alike.

Don't worry--I power-wash them before I ship them!
