yup..... Peter Cook and Dudley Moore were a very successful comedy team in England.

Their alter egos 'Derek and Clive' were groundbreaking in the area of gross comedy:

Here's a cool photo I found of John backstage in 1966:
Image
Didn't know he was active on the harp since the June/July '65 European tour, when he was last seen playing it.

Looks like the suit jacket he's wearing is from this August '66 show

My sister went to MoMA in San Francisco yesterday to see the Richard Avedon retrospective there, and emailed me this shot:

My first thought was, "Egad! He's probably tuning to the harmonica!" As inaccurate a method that would be, that's most likely what he is doing...
That might explain why they sound so, er, "in tune" at Budokan. :D

at the top of the third, the PA was playing "I Saw Her Standing There".....
Paul didn't sing along, but you could tell that he enjoyed it.

This is the woman he went on the road trip with (Route 66) in an old Ford Bronco. Don't know her name. I think she's
an old friend of Paul and Linda's whom he now is "seeing" with the full support of his children.

Edit: there it is - Nancy Shevell

Well, I hope she's not the type to require a 'pre-nup' forbidding the smoking of the herb...he's nothing but a fool if he signs two of those in one lifetime...

thats neat.... any other good stuff going on? I was once at one of the early Beatlefests .... back when they actually got the Beatles themselves to donate items.... and was in a drawing to win the acoustic guitar that (they said) was the one John took with him on his (in)famous trip to Spain with Brian.

Good view of the Cavern

I didn't know that. Was that part of the basis for her divorce suit? I made a point of avoiding a lot of the gory details, but
I do see that pot was mentioned:

My bet is that it belonged to either John or Mal Evans.
