Anyone knows whatever happened to that little van? Must be worth a fortune!

Good question! I've searched briefly and cant find mention of it. Apparently the Commer Van was a very popular vehicle for bands back in those days.

It looks like there was more than one - the one in the photo with the Cavern sign has a registration of 337**W with an older style grill and the shot of them in sitting it is 208 UFM.

Hmmm..... have never heard mention of more than one, but it looks like you're right. The original one was purchases by Neil Aspinall for 80 pounds.

Last night I watched "The Birth of the Beatles" ...... and it managed to **** ME OFF all over again. The reason I'm ****** is NOT that the move was altogether bad. The soundtrack (by RAIN) was very good.... some of the acting was also pretty good (especially Stephen Mackenna playing a very credible John Lennon) and many of the sets (shot in Liverpool) were excellent. My problem is that it was so DAMNED technically and historically inaccurate!

The instruments..... of all the things that you think a movie like this could get right, it would be the instruments. John's Hofner Club and Stu's bass weren't too far off (but still, why not get it right?).... but George's Futurama and Paul's Rosetti Solid 7 aren't even close. Arrrrrrrrgghh!!!! And then Georges Gretsch's (both early and later) are totally wrong... and then instead of having "John" hold a 325, they give him a 620..... Arrrrrrrrgghh!!!! And then there is Pete's drums which were blue in the movie.... ugh.
It seems like they were INTENTIONALLY TRYING to get the instruments ALL WRONG
.

Historically, the whole thing is a combination of accuracy and a mish-mosh of convenient error. From Astrid's informing the group of Stu's death ("Backbeat" got that a whole lot more accurate) to the group signing with Brian, to the apparent ignoring of over a year of British Beatlemania prior to going to America..... (dont get me started on the amazingly inaccurate arrival in America scene).

anywho..... thanks for letting me vent.... :D

this is a clip of the Litherland Town Hall scene.... with Stu.... gimme a break.

You can watch the movie in YouTube:

At least they could have cast the RINGO character with someone who was shorter than the others.

Paul and Pete scorched a little bit of wall when they set a condom on fire for light...... <br />this movie turns it into a MAJOR CONFLAGRATION!
