I find it hard to believe those would really work...

Okay, I know this is not the right place for this...but it occurs to me that a car like this would provoke one of two responses, thumbs up or thumbs down. I for one think it's beautiful. The Cramer Comet:

That's a disproportionate, amateurish, low-budget version of this classic GM Motorama show car, the Buick LeSabre:



And the difference between the two is subtle. But it's where the difference between, "(sort of) nice try", and "grand slam", to shamelessly mix a metaphor.

My offhand guess is that the Comet was "styled" to fit an existing chassis, and no drawings exist--it looks like the builder winged it.

I don't think the differences are subtle at all. Just about every detail is different with the GM being far more elegant, not clumsy looking like the Cramer Comet.

To you and me and many others, not subtle. To others, it's, "what's the difference?"

But, yes, I agree with your every word. Comparisons of these two photos do an excellent job of underscoring the difference between amateur enthusiast and trained professional team. Aside from those differences, there are quite secondary considerations of budget.

Huge difference to me. The Comet just lost its luster. What a gorgeous car, that Le Sabre!

That Comet reminds me of the kiddie pedal cars decades ago.

Man! Some pretty raunchy and barfy guitars I've seen on this thread. (but a cool thread to be sure!)

I try to like Fender stuff. I really do. Right now, I use Pbass exclusively, but besides tasteless, this seems useless.

Since that photo was taken, I've installed a JM/Jag bridge cover, and plan on sending the hot/tapped neck p/up back to Seymour Duncan to have it potted and the chrome cover installed. A regular Tele chrome cover doesn't fit because of the extra windings.

I actually bid on one of those MOTO Strat once on EBay, but I figured out it was a scam, so no go.

A Litghtshow version would be really cool... all sorts of colored lights lighting up the MOTO from behind, if the MOTO were translucent and thin enough.

Yuck!!! Blaaahh! I'm sure glad I don't have to look at that every day...
