I have accepted my destiny. There is an Arnquist-Modded 12 string in my future, as well as a Jetglo 360, an acoustic and probably a bass too. Can someone here tell my wife?

John - 11's!?! My G-d man, that's like pushin' on pipe! I like to do some bending lead while chord-janglin' too. I thought the 10's were tough to bend. Don't get me wrong, I realize that I (and many others) bought this Ric for that "full-chord sound." And I love it for that but if some rockin' is in your blood then, you're going to want to bend it a little.

Maybe my "cadet" (golf glove) sized hands can't force an 11 up to pitch. That could be, I suppose.

I though the 10-42s that are factory installed on my 350 would be difficult (I am used to 9's on my LP and my Godin) but have since discovered that on the 350 neck, the 10s are every bit as easy to play and bend. I play Gimouresque whole step plus bends in my leads, and the Ric 10-42s are fantastic. At first it feels as though you are not going to get there, buy when it comes time to reach far, they get there as easily as the 9s.

Well, there you have it then. I too like Floyd/Gilmour. I was messing around with "Time" the other day I must admit, I didn't really try.

I thought that lead was too much for the Ric. I give 'er another go and see. I'm not completely satisfied with the brand of 9's I bought for the 330 (fine for a Strat) so, I'll have to experiment a bit.

"Time" is a perfect example. When I first tried that lead on the Ric I felt unsure and I was playing it same as I would with 9s. This was just to delicate an approach with the Ric. I really gave it some effort and was rewarded with a great, clear bend, that played easy.

The bass strings in the Ric 10-42 set are also a bit smaller than the usual 9-46's I play and allow some great bends down low.

I wouldn't consider anything other than 10-42s or 10-46s on any of my Ricks. I'm using Rotosound 10-46s on my 360V64 at present and they give me the resistance I need when bending and sound great! The standard Rick strings are about right for bending also.

9s on my Fenders are too light after playing a Rick - takes quite a bit of adjustment because I tend to over-bend.

I love Floyd/Gilmour!! I'm working on a jazz/blues-oriented medley at present. Fun!!

Well, it wasn't as difficult as I thought. Not quite as effortless as the strat but with just a little nudge, you can actually get there fairly easily. Just have to toughen up the ol calluses, I suppose.

I was thumbing through a "Guitar Encyclopedia" I have and came across this Ric with slanted frets and pick ups. Said to have matched "natural finger angle" by the company. I thought it was actually a very astute idea but it obviously didn't catch on.

I knew there were slant fret 481's out there, but other models as well?
I wonder how many were made of each type. Gotta be pretty rare.
I'd really love to try one.

Ahhhhh....Slant frets. I don't know why they never caught on either.... I'm sure lovin' mine!
