What the heck happened with Zidane? I've never seen him do anything like that. That must have been some serious trash-talking to get him all riled up like that.

Apparently the guy that Zidane had a crack at is an expert in baiting. Worked well, eh?

If Zidane had still been around for the shoot out it may have been a different result.

Uncontrolled emotion and a questionable substitution strategy might have a been contributing factors to the loss for France.

Yup. Tough to win a penatly shoot-out without Zidane, Viera & Henry.

A crazy ending to a fairly ordinary tournament. The Italy side were second best yesterday but overall were one of the better teams.

Makes a change for them to go home without being met with the rotten tomato's...

Well at the end of the day a football match was won by a side that had a better overall strategy.

They were both very close in terms of talent but I have to say I was impressed by France since many of their player were getting on in age.

I give the the Italians full marks for coming back and scoring and then putting together a better list of players for the penalty shoot out. Many fans love that aspect of the game, I don't particularly but in reality a match can't go on forever until it's decided, so I will go with the flow on that aspect of the game.

Well... at least, the Ukrainian team were "kicked out" of the World Cup (no abbreviations!Image) by the world champion of the year. Image
Still, my heart goes to ZZ. No matter what happened, it was, as it seems, his last world cup...
Back to better moments, so to speak, - i liked the previous match (Portugal - Germany) much more: no matter who won, that was the game!
