--------------------

Lawyers for Heather Mills are denying reports that she has come to an agreement with Paul McCartney in their high-stakes divorce.

The British newspaper News of the World had claimed on Sunday that the exes were about to settle out of court, with Mills, 38, receiving more than $63 million in cash and property – almost $2,000 for each hour of their four-year marriage.

Not true, says her side. "She is in tears about this," a friend of Mills tells PEOPLE. "There has been no deal."

Her lawyers, Mishcon de Reya, issued a statement Monday saying, "We would like to state that there has been no offer made whatsoever at any time to our client and therefore no settlement has been agreed."

Sources close to Mills say the pair are, in fact, far from an agreement. "This will take month and months," says the friend.

$2000/hr, 24/7, for 4 years? Not a bad gig if you can get it. And that's what the whole thing was to her from the very beginning.... a job with a large payoff at the end.

I can't see lawyers, charging an hourly rate, wanting to see this end quickly and cleanly, either.

I think that if every Beatles fan would contribute $1, we could save Paul some money and get rid of Heather once and for all. We owe him that much. In fact, I'll give $2.

Paul wouldn't even miss 200 mil. And as long as the relatives turn on the Beatles spigot every five years or so (with 1, Love, etc.) they're all able to print money on demand.

He does not need your dollar.

Yes, but if you reduce it all the way down, one of Paul's greatest talents is convincing people to give him money. I mean, I gave Paul my money so he could be impossibly wealthy and now Heather wants some of it. Get your own money, Heather. And Paul, here, help yourself. Now... about "Carnival of Light"...

The fact that Paul doesn't need my dollar is exactly why I would give him $2 -- I owe the guy my entire life as a bass player/musician.
